Kiss Me or Kill Me
By Mendingausedheart

Disclaimer: Any relation to the Harry Potter world does not belong to me. The Harry Potter world and the characters in it belong to JK Rowling. The idea for this story belongs to me.

Warning: This is a slash between Harry and Draco. Don't worry this story is not going be a total yaoi. It’s going to be a non-sexual relationship between this two with a little flirting. This story is not going to be graphic. I don't do that type of stuff. I am just warning readers just in case they do not like slashes.

Summary: Harry goes on his own to find the Horcuxes. In a small town he runs into Draco. Should Harry kill him for what he did or is there more to Draco that he wants to discover?

Chapter Five
The violent current forced the young men down the river, dragging them in the pitch dark to their end. Harry could barely see anything without his glasses. He lost them when he smashed into the water. He felt his hand gripping onto Draco’s arm, trying hard to hold onto him. Harry looked back and saw blond hair bobbing in and out of the water. Draco was trying his best to keep up with Harry, but cold water was stinging his injured leg. A loud noise up ahead caught their attention.

“Malfoy,” Harry called out. “Hold on to me and don’t let go.”

Both of their bodies were washed down a waterfall. Harry’s vision became black as his body hit the hard surface of the river.

Harry. Harry. A voice was calling out his name. Was he having another nightmare? Or did he finally make it to the end of his life without destroying Voldemort? Harry. Harry. The voice spoke again. He opened his eyes, but they were already opened and he was standing up. His surroundings were black and dense. He couldn’t even see his own hands in front of him. Harry. Harry. He wanted to speak out, but no sound came out his mouth. He began to run towards the voice as it continued to call out his name. The voice was moving farther and farther away from him. Harry. Harry.

“Potter,” He had finally opened his eyes, barely able to see the person in front of him, lying beside him and holding on to his hand.

“You’re finally awake.” Draco’s breathing was slow and raspy. “I have been calling out your name.”

Harry slowly sat up on his knees and glanced behind him. The river was calm and quiet. Their bodies had washed up on the riverbank after falling down the waterfall. It was still dark and the moonlight was their only source of light.

Harry felt something tugging at his hand. Something cold and wet.

“You told me to hold on to you.” Draco coughed roughly and released Harry’s hand. He rolled over onto his back and groaned in pain. “It still burns.”

“What burns?”

“Are you blind?” Draco hissed. “I have a huge cut when those homicidal Death Eaters tried to zap us to death.”

“If you noticed from back at the inn, my vision is useless without my glasses.” Harry snapped back.

“There’s an extra pair in my knapsack.” Draco said.

“Really?”

Draco rolled his eyes. “Yes, and some healing potions.” He sat up and took off his knapsack, handing it to Harry.

Harry emptied the bag and fumbled through the things, finding a new pair of glasses and some healing potions.

Draco sat up on his elbows, examining Harry’s work. He watched Harry frantically working hard to stop the bleeding. He felt the healing potions taking effect, numbing the pain. A cold chill took over Draco’s body and he began to shiver.

“You’re still cold,” Harry pressed his against the Slytherin’s cheeks.  He dragged Draco away from the river and sat him against a fallen tree. Harry yanked out a blanket from his knapsack and wrapped it around Draco. “I am going to get some firewood.”

“Wait,” Draco grabbed his arm and pulled Harry closer to him. Draco was feeling light-headed and he felt his boy heat up as he pulled Harry’s face closer to his. “Thank you, Harry.” Draco pressed his lips against his enemy’s and collapsed.

Harry was up early in the morning, tending to the fire. He rubbed his eyes, where dark circles had appeared and yawned loudly. He couldn’t sleep at all last night. Throughout the night, Harry had tried to convince himself that Draco had a disorientated, which made him do the unthinkable. That still didn’t convince other wise. He could still clearly remember Draco’s cold lips against his. Harry just hoped Draco doesn’t remember anything.

Draco woke straight up, gasping for air. He found himself out of the water and lying on some blankets. He remembered being chased in the woods by Death Eaters and jumping into the river, but everything else after that was a blank. Draco jerked his leg and hissed in pain. He glanced down at his bandaged leg.

“How’s your leg?”  Harry asked.

“Fine, a little sore, but, happily, the world didn’t lose a Malfoy.” Draco smirked.

“It was only a graze.” Harry sounded annoyed. He poured some boiled water into two small bowls and poured an opened packet of porridge in each. Harry watched Draco stagger toward him, sitting on the other side of the fire.

Draco retrieved one of the bowls and ate silently. The young men didn’t say a word to each other, not even an early morning insult.

Harry finished his porridge, smoldered out the fire, and went to wash the bowl in the river. He walked over where Draco had slept and packed up the blankets. Harry tossed Draco his knapsack and went back to the riverbank. The map and compass somehow stayed dry along with the blankets. Harry skimmed through the map, calculating the distance to Godric’s Hallow.

Draco gulped down the last bit porridge and stuffed the dirty bowl in his knapsack. He quietly staggered up behind Harry.

“Potter,” Harry jumped up, nervously stepping away from the Slytherin. He kept his eyes glued to the map. “We are going to head north up the river. It’ll take us at least a day and half to get to Godric’s Hallow.” Harry informed him.

“Um…Can we stay a little bit longer and rest?” Draco asked, nervously. “My leg is still sore.”

“You had all night to rest.” Harry began to walk ahead.

“It could get infected.”

“It was just a graze, you big baby.”

“But it was a deep cut, Potter,” Draco whined.

Stop saying my name!” Harry’s voice echoed loudly.

“Are you sure you want to go to Godric’s Hallow?” Harry scoffed in frustration as Draco continued to ask questions. “What if the Death Eaters know we are heading there?”

Harry stopped, abruptly. “Only the people I trust know where I am going. They are not going to tell anyone. Then there is…” Harry whipped out his wand and pointed it to the blonde-haired wizard in front of him.

“Don’t you even think about it.” Draco whimpered and stood perfectly still.

“Think about what?”

“You think I told them, even though they left me for dead.”

“Maybe, to get back on their good side, if they had any, by bringing them my head.” Harry guessed.

“I never do that to anyone after they saved my life multiple of times.” Draco pleaded.

Harry couldn’t stare into those eyes. “The deal’s off.”

“You can’t do that.”

“This is my journey.” Harry spoke to Draco as he continued to walk. “Once we get to Godric’s Hallow we’ll go our separate ways.” Draco didn’t protest and followed Harry, silently.

There was great distance between the young enemies as they continued up the river underneath the late-afternoon sun. Growling noises were getting louder as they walk farther up the riverbank. Harry was getting ticked off at Draco’s loud stomach.

“I am hungry, Potter.” Harry ignored him. “Can we stop? I am really tired.”

“No.”

“Just a little while.” Draco whined. “My leg really hurts.”

“No.”

“Potter-”

Can you stop whining you pompous prick?” Harry snapped at him.

“I was just going to tell you to watch out for that branch.” Draco pointed above him.

“What branch?” Harry turned around and smacked his head into a low branch, knocking his glasses off. Draco rushed over, flinging his knapsack to one side, but Harry yelled at him to stay back. “I don’t need your help.”

“How? You can’t see a thing.” Draco took out a rag from his pocket.

“Don’t come near me.” Harry blindly searched the ground for his glasses, as blood dripped down to one of his eyes.

Draco snatched one of Harry’s wrists and pressed the rag against his forehead. “It’s my turn to help you.” He handed Harry his glasses while wiping the blood off from his forehead.

“I’ve never noticed how green your eyes are,” Draco smiled.

Harry blushed at the Slytherin’s closeness and pushed him away. “Stop!”

Draco slammed his back against the tree. He was confused at Harry’s forceful reaction. “What’s wrong with you?”

“I don’t want you to kiss me.” Harry blurted out.

Draco busted out laughing. “You probably hit that branch a little too hard.” His face was turning red. “I can’t believe Potter wants a kiss from the great Draco Malfoy.”

“You already kissed me!” Harry couldn’t contain his anger.

“Huh?” Draco stopped laughing. “What do you mean Ialready kissed you?”

Harry stood up and slide on his glasses. “After I bandaged your cut, you thanked me with a kiss on the… lips.”

Draco rolled on the ground laughing. Harry kicked some dirt on his face and  resumed up the riverbank. Draco stood up, coughing.

“Quit making things up. I would never kiss someone like you or even thank you.” Draco said, running up beside him. “So?”

“So what?”

“So, how was I?” Draco smirked.

“You are so pathetic.” Harry scoffed.

“Come on. Tell me. Was I better than your little girlfriend?” Draco persisted. “All the girls at school think I am the greatest kisser. Even Moaning Mrytle wanted some of me.”

“Pansy does not count as a girl or multiple of girls.” Harry chuckled. “And Moaning Mrytle is a peeping tom. I should know.”

“Potter, quit making up excuses. You know you liked it.” Harry pinned Draco against a tree. He motioned his lips closer to the Slytherin. He stared into the hazel-eyes. Draco stood quietly and taint of red appeared on his cheeks. His lips began to quiver.  A happy smirk appeared on Harry’s face.

Harry began to chuckle and stepped away from him. “You are so full of it. You actually thought I am that stupid enough to kiss someone as cold-hearted as you.” He walked away from the Slytherin.

Draco clamped his hand over his lips. Did his body betray him?

What’s happening to me?” Both young men thought themselves. “I have to forget these emotions. I need to concentrate on my mission.
