Final Chapter
The sun was setting on the second day up the riverbank. Harry began to get anxious as he checked the map for the tenth time. He thought there would be more houses or stores up ahead, but there was no sign of human life. Draco followed up behind him, staying a few feet away from Harry.

“Are we lost?” Draco asked.

“No,” Harry hoped he was not lost. He didn’t want to be ridicule by a certain Slytherin.

“Are you-“ Draco paused for a second. “Are you sure you want to go there?”

“Quit asking when you know what I am going to say.” Harry replied.

“But you never told me why.”

“I just want to visit my parent’s graves. That’s all.” Harry continued to skim through the map.

His parents are very important to him, just like my parents are to me.” Draco whispered to himself.

“Potter!” He called out.

Harry breathed out in frustration. “Don’t say my-”

“I see some lights up ahead.” Draco pointed.
“Finally, you were useful for something.” Harry ran toward the light. He stepped out of the woods and found himself behind two buildings.

Draco tried to catch up to him and followed Harry in the alleyway of two buildings. Draco made his way beside him and stopped. They both peeked out the alley to find the town brightly shining. The stores were still open and the pubs were full of cheery, singing people. There were a couple of people walking in and out of the stores. Then Harry saw the small church situated in the middle of the town. His eyes stopped on the brass mental gates, leading to the cemetery behind the church. A feeling of happiness mixed with sadness filled his heart. He was only a few feet away from seeing his beloved mother and father.

Harry patted down his hair and pulled over his jacket’s hood. He glanced out of the alley, checking if the streets were empty.

“This is where we go our separate ways.” Harry took a step out, but Draco jerked him back by his arm. “What are you doing?

Draco held on tightly; his hands violently shaking. “Can we visit your parents house first?” He spoke out quickly.

“I am not bringing someone like you to a place too sacred for me.” Harry snatched his arm back from his enemy’s grasp.

“I want to see with my own eyes, the place where your parents sacrifice their lives for you. I want to grasp the feeling of loosing a parent.” Draco seemed to be on the verge of tears.

Harry didn’t want to believe Draco’s sincerity not until he saw sadness and grief in the blond-hair boy’s eyes. Harry quickly gave in for some unknown reason and walked out the alleyway with Draco. A glance at his parent’s house with his enemy was not going to kill him.

An old man pointed them towards a dark and lonely street. The streetlamps were not lit and the houses along the street were vacant and inhabitable. They both stop in front of rusty metal gate. Behind the gate stood a two-story house, giving off the atmosphere of a haunted house. The white paint was brown and peeling off. The shingles were broken off and laid on the tall brown grass. Harry believed the house would fall apart at any second.

“Let’s go in,” Draco opened the gate.

“Is it safe to go in?”

Draco didn’t answer him and kept walking to the front door. He tossed his knapsack, not caring if he ever sees it again.
Draco turned the doorknob, but it was locked. “Use your wand to open the door.”

Harry waved his wand and the door swung open. He put his wand back into his jacket’s pocket. He stepped inside first, stopping immediately when he caught himself in some cobwebs. Draco bumped into him, knocking Harry on the floor.

“I’m going to find some candles.” Draco disappeared down the hallway, before Harry could get up.

“Thanks for the help.” Harry groaned sarcastically.

Harry stood up and lost Draco in the pitch dark. He adjusted his eyes to the darkness, finding his way into the living room. The moonlight peeked through curtains.  The walls were bare and the furniture was covered in dusty white sheets. Harry smiled to himself, imagining how cheerful his life would have been if his parents were still alive.

There was a whimper, almost a faint sob, making Harry jerk his body around. A tall silhouette stood in the darkness, sobbing.

“Malfoy?” Harry searched for his wand. He couldn’t clearly see Draco in the dark.

“I am sorry, Potter,” Draco stepped into the moonlight. Harry saw his wand, pressing against the Dark Mark on Draco’s left arm.

“No!” Harry rushed forward, but fell back as a blast hit the side of the house.

Voldemort’s laughter echoed in the house as he stepped through the hole made created by the blast. He treaded over the rubble in the living room, breathing in the dust. “Good evening, Mr. Potter.”

Harry glanced up in anger. Voldemort’s red eyes were happily looking around his parent’s house.

“This place hasn’t changed one bit.” Voldemort chuckled joyously. “That blast sure brings back good and warm memories. Don’t you think, Mr. Potter?”

Shut up!” Harry stood up, angrily shouting out the fiend who destroy his parent’s home.

“Good work, Mr. Malfoy,” Draco was trying hard to compose himself in front of the Dark Lord. He dropped Harry’s wand, taking deep breaths. “You kept your word and I will keep mine. Both of your parents are safely back home.”

“Thank you, my lord.” Draco bowed, never making eye contact.

Harry glared at Draco. “I can’t believe I brought myself to trust you when all along you were doing his dirty work.”

“Now. Now, Mr. Potter, this is actually your fault. You’re the one with a good heart, trying to be a hero and rescuing people in need.” Voldemort playfully frowned.

Draco lowered his head, feeling Harry’s eyes piercing through him.

“You actually thought you could trust a Death Eater.” Voldemort snickered evilly. “Wasn’t Mr. Malfoy’s perfomance wonderful? He was willing to get beaten by his comrades and become friends with you all for selfish reasons. He never cared about you. His is a Slytherin and you are just a feeble Gryffindor.”

Harry’s blood was boiling at the thought that Draco could had a change of heart. He shouldn’t let his emotions get the better of him. Now, his actions for trusting a Slytherin was going to get him killed.

“Where’s Mrs. Grey?” Harry asked, trying to prolong his existence.

“Our minds connecting can come in very handy, especially giving the other the illusion of someone being tortured.”  Voldemort smiled. “You should know better than that Harry.”

Harry remembered how Voldemort lured him to the Ministry, making him believe he was torturing Sirius. “She’s alive?”

“Sadly, yes,” Voldemort replied. “She disappeared right after my men questioned her. But, Mr. Malfoy, here, was kind of enough to inform me of your whereabouts while you were in dreamland.”

“My dreams?” Harry clenched his fist in anger. “You invaded my dreams.”

“Malfoy needed time to inform the others of your whereabouts. I sent my followers to have a little fun. They loved chasing you like dogs, Harry. Mr. Malfoy was also willing to get injured, making you believe they were after him too.” Voldemort pulled out his wand and Death Eaters appeared behind him. Some appeared outside, peeking through the windows.

“The time has come to finish off what I started so long ago,” Voldemort caressed his wand against his cheeks. Draco backed himself away from the group.

“Tonight’s the night Harry Potter will die in the same house as his parents.” Voldemort raised his wand as the Death Eaters cheered in triumphant. “It was nice knowing-”

A stream of lights zoomed past Harry, hitting the Death Eaters. Voldemort had shield himself from harms way. Harry crouched on the ground, avoiding the spells.

“Harry!” A familiar voice spoke to him. Harry looked over to find Ron, Hermione, and Ginny crouched beside him. He looked around and the place was in complete chaos.  The Death Eaters were trying to fight the members of the order. Their spells were smashing into the walls of the house. Debris was flying from all over the place.

Ron handed Harry his wand. “Found it on the floor.”

“How did you find me?”

“An Order member disguised as an old man protects this house. Then he heard an explosion and called the Order, telling us you were here with Malfoy.” Hermione explained.

“I’m-We’re happy we came just in time.” Ginny smiled at him.

Harry smiled back and joined the others to fight off the Death Eaters. He skimmed through the chaos, trying to find Voldemort and found him, running up the stairs with Draco. Harry raced after them, seeing them run into the nursery room. The very room his mother sacrifice her life for him.  Harry walked into the room point his wand at his two enemies.

“Doesn’t this room feel nostalgic, Harry?” Voldemort was using Draco as a shield, restraining him from escaping.

“Only to an evil monster like you.” Harry stated, firmly.

“You should feel some remorse since another person who cares about you might die here, again.” Harry wondered about his friends. “It’s not them I am talking about.”  Voldemort pointed his wand to Draco’s temple.

“Malfoy?” Harry laughed. “I don’t care about a cowardly prick like him.”

“That’s not true, Harry.” Voldemort looked down at Draco. “Would you mind telling him, Mr. Malfoy?”

“He knows,” Draco groaned as Voldemort forced his head back. “He knows what I tried to do.”

“Yes,” Voldemort hissed the young man’s ear. “He let his emotions get in the way of his real mission, trying to stop Harry from coming to Godric’s Hallow.” Draco whimpered as Voldemort pressed his wand harder into his temple.

“Let him go!” Harry yelled, pointing his wand directly at Voldemort.

“You are not going to do anything when I can sense mix feelings of love and hate coming form you.” Voldemort sneered. “Does your inner struggle have to do anything with Mr. Malfoy?”

“No!” Harry was trying to control his emotions and his mind.

“I see,” Voldemort smiled, evilly. “You both shared something ‘precious’ together.”

“Stop acting like a hero and get the hell out of here!” Draco screamed at him, but Harry stood his ground, trying to get a clear shot of Voldemort. He didn’t want either of them escaping.

“He is not going anywhere until he answers one simple question.” Voldemort gripped Draco’s head back, stroking his wand down the side of his neck. “Tell me, Harry. What is Mr. Malfoy to you?”

A puzzle expression appeared on Harry’s face. He didn’t really know how to answer the question, but it could be one Voldemort’s tricks, trying to distract. Harry didn’t lower his wand for one second.

“I believe deep down in that pathetic heart of yours, you hold a special place for this boy.” Voldemort smirked, his red eyes glowing brightly.

Harry gripped his wand, angrily.

“We hate each other.” Both young men shouted out at the same time.

“Since I saw Malfoy in the alley I wanted to kill him.” Harry said. “All this time, I had murder in my heart. I wanted to kill him because of what he did that night when Professor Dumbledore died.”

“You don’t how much I wanted to strangle you in your sleep.” Draco spat out.

“Then why were you trying to stop him from coming here.” Voldemort questioned him.

“I wanted to see how eager he was to see his parent’s graves, so I can easily lure him to the house. I used my parent’s safety and love as bait to make him trust me.” Draco smirked happily. “Now, you know, Potter, never trust a Slytherin unless you want to die.”

Malfoy,” Harry gritted his name through his teeth.

Voldemort laughed loudly. “You actually think I am going to believe this so-call hate you have for each other.”

“My lord, what we shared just shows how weak Potter really is,” Draco stared away from Harry’s green eyes and his smirk disappeared.

Harry stood speechless. Draco’s harsh words and betrayal had finally sunk in. The feelings he once had for the Slytherin vanished from his heart. His eyes flickered in determination to get rid of his enemy, standing before him.

“Yes,” Voldemort sneered. “Kill Draco. He deserves to die.”

Draco raised his head, giving Harry one final look.

Harry’s wand trembled in his hand when he felt the floor rumble and a loud explosion downstairs. Remus had appeared behind Harry, informing him that the house was about to collapse. Harry didn’t want to go. He didn’t want to end things like this. Voldemort chuckled and disappeared with Draco just as Harry apparated with Remus.

Outside, Harry watched as his parent’s house collapse, covering his eyes as a cloud of dust flew towards him. He looked around and saw the order tending to the injured and rounding up the Death Eaters that were left behind.

Tears rolled down Harry’s face, feeling the emptiness as his parent’s house was now completely destroyed. He felt Ginny’s arms slip around him, comforting him. Harry cried in anger. He needed to continue his mission in order to save everyone from the hands of evil. Everyone

END OF FLASHBACK

“Harry, its time to go!” A woman’s voice called to him.

A little boy, resembling much like Harry, groaned in disappointment. “I wanted to hear the rest of the story.”

“I thought it was boring.” Another boy, who seemed to be a bit older, spoke out. “I thought you were going to tell us one of your adventures.”

An older looking Harry had been sitting in the living room of his home, telling his two sons a story he supposedly heard from his childhood when in reality he was telling one of his past adventures. He had changed a few things and excluded certain parts, so his children wouldn’t get suspicious. Harry didn’t want to reveal the many dangers he experienced when he was young, preventing his children from following in his footsteps.

“I rather tell you a different story.” Harry smiled at them.

A little red-headed girl ran into the living room, pulling her father’s arms. “Mommy, said its time to go.”

Harry laughed and followed his children to the hallway. Ginny had been waiting for them in the next room. The fireplace was already lit. They were all going to Diagon Alley to get their first son, James, his school supplies.

The streets of Diagon Alley were full of parents and eager children, buying new things for Hogwarts. The family headed down to the Flourish and Blotts. The store was packed with people. Ginny and Harry were discussing on how to get through the crowd. Little Albus nervously stared at the crowded bookstore and tugged at his father’s shirt.

“Dad, Can I go get some ice cream instead?” He asked quietly.

“Don’t you want to help your brother pick out his books?” Little Albus lowered his head.

“Harry, I’ll take James and you can take Al and Lil-”

“No, I want to go with you, mommy!” Lily whined.

“Then I’ll take Al down and we can meet up at the cauldron shop.” Harry kissed Ginny good luck and went down to Florean Fortescue’s Ice Parlour with Little Albus.

Harry happily greeted Mr. Fortescue. Florean Fortescue had reappeared after the battle. Never revealing where he had been hiding. Mr. Fortescue’s hand trembled as he handed Little Albus his favorite flavor of ice cream.

“That boy of yours looks more like you each day.” Mr. Fortescue happily commented. “I hope he doesn’t wonder off into trouble like you did, Harry.”

“Don’t worry,” Harry patted his son on the shoulder. “He won’t.”

Harry and Little Albus waved good-bye and walked down the crowded streets.

“Dad,” Little Albus quietly spoke up. “Did Henry ever get the seven stones and destroyed the Lord of Darkness?” Since, his father didn’t get to finish the story, Little Albus was a little curious of the ending.

“Yeah, he did,” Harry sighed, quietly.

“Did Henry ever saw his friend again?”

“No,” His father expression became more solemn. “After the Lord of Darkness’ downfall, Henry and his friend went their separate ways. His friend moved far, far away from here.”  Little Albus noticed his father mood change and his eyes seemed distance like he was remembering something.

As they continue walking down the streets, the clouds cast a shadow over the pedestrians as they blew across the sun. Harry stopped dead in his tracks once the sun began to shine again. Unconsciously, Harry’s fingers swept over his lips as the person approached him.

“Malfoy?” Harry was surprised to see Draco back in England. Draco looked exactly like his father. His hair was longer and he wore black robes made with the finest material. There was a little boy holding his hand, who looked like Draco when he was younger, but his hair was not comb back and he had rosy cheeks. He happily looked up at Harry instead of giving him a smug expression. He seemed to be a very cheery boy.

“Look, daddy,” The little boy’s face lit right up with joy when he pointed towards the Quality Qudditch supplies store. “They have a new model on display. May I please go take a look?”

“Yes, you may, but take that little boy with you.” Draco suggested. “I want to get reacquainted with an old friend from school. Okay, Scorpius?”

Little Albus shyly hid behind his father. Scorpius reached his hand out towards him. Little Albus stared at Scorpius’ smiling face. His smile almost seemed contagious and Little Albus happily accepted his hand. Harry was left dumbfounded with Scorpius’ friendly behavior towards his son.

“I thought you would bad mouth me to your son, Malfoy.” Harry said, once the children reached the store.

“Things change.” Draco paused for a brief moment. “People change, Potter.”

Both fathers observed their sons interact with one another. Scorpius and Little Albus were smiling and talking about something. Little Albus had decided to share his ice cream cone.

Malfoy laughed to himself. “I guess those ‘particular’ feelings were passed down to our sons.”

Harry looked at his son. He had never seen Little Albus get along so well with another child. Little Albus had always been shy around new people and other children, but with Scorpius. He seemed to be a completely different person.

“I guess you’re right.” Harry stared back at Draco. “All the chaos and mistrust, so long ago, it was never the appropriate time to explore what ever feelings we had for each other.”

“That’s true.” Draco stroked his bottom lip, pretending to scratch it. “I was too busy trying to follow commands in order to save my parents and you were to focus on trying to destroy him.”

Little Albus disappointedly stared at the latest qudditch broom. “I am not a really good qudditch player. My brother and cousins don’t even let me play with them.”

“Maybe, I can teach you when we get to Hogwarts.” Scorpius grasped Little Albus’ hand, promising him. Little Albus looked at him in astonishment. Scorpius actually wanted to be his friend. “You never know how talented you might be.”

Draco glanced at Harry’s scar. He remembered the last time he actually saw Harry. It was back at the Potter’s house when Voldemort used him as a human shield. Voldemort taunted Harry into killing him. Draco lifted up his head and looked into Harry’s green eyes for the last time, mouthing I am sorry as a single tear rolled down his eye.

Harry caught Draco staring at him. The last time he actually saw those eyes was when Voldemort wanted him to kill Draco.  As a final act, Draco had actually apologized to him. Harry couldn’t go through with it. He didn’t want Draco’s blood. Voldemort was the only person he wanted to kill. Harry was going to lower his wand when the house began to rumble and Voldemort disappeared with Draco.

“I want to properly thank you.” Draco said.

“For what?”

“For freeing us from the Dark Lord.”

“It doesn’t matter anymore.” Harry never felt solely responsible for Voldemort’s demise. He always had help from his friends. “At least the next generation has a better chance in not making the same mistakes as we did.”

“What about us?”

“We will always be enemies, Malfoy.” Harry smirked.

Draco laughed. “Enemies.”

“Al, it’s time to go. Your mother is waiting for us.” Both boys ran to their fathers and told each other good-bye. Harry and Draco nodded farewell and went on their separate ways.

Little Albus walked beside his father, happily talking about Scorpius. “He is really nice. I hope we get to be in the same house when we go to Hogwarts.”

Harry just smiled, worrying that his son’s hope would be shatter when he learns the truth. For now, he just wanted to see Little Albus smile.

“Dad, I noticed something about Scorpius’ father.”

“What?”

“He reminds me a lot of Henry’s friend from your story.” Little Albus said.

Harry knew Little Albus was much more observant than his siblings. He ruffled his son’s hair, making his son laugh. Harry realized his chapter with Draco was ending and a new one was about to begin for Little Albus and Scorpius.

Took you long enough! lol  A very enjoyable read. Thank you for putting it all up.
:iconmendingausedheart:
thank you for taking the time and reading it. I know it took me forever, but I wanted to make sure everything was correct and flowing right. I hope you like the ending. My sis freaked because harry and draco didn't end up together. Part of me wanted to stay true the book and also give way for Albus/Scorpius. Thanks again for reading it and for sticking with me, even though I was slow.

Your sister freaked? Poor you.. I like it better this way to be quite honest then with Harry and Draco ending up together. And horray for Albus/Scorpius...Personally, I like that idea better anyways.

Besides, you can't keep everyone happy...just remember that. As long as you are pleased with the story then that is all that matters.
:iconmendingausedheart:
Yeah, it the ending was going to be very different and I was trying to find a way for Harry and Draco somehow get together without all this mistrust. So, I decided this would be perfect. I think Albus/Scorpius are too cute together. That's why JK named one of Harry's sons Albus. LOL!!!

Thank you

Haha, I never thought of it that way. Are you going to write an Albus/Scorpius story you think?
:iconmendingausedheart:
At the moment, I haven't plan to do one, since I am busy trying to finish up my Snape fanfiction and a original story. I need more information about Albus and Scorpius. Also, I need figure where to start. Maybe an idea will come to me after I finish my other projects.
